In late May I took a day off and together with Elisabet and Frida we went hiking. Again, it was Matarodona what most lured us, for there's a flag flying on a rock above the estate that Elisabet (and Frida) only knew from a distance.
This time we took the shortest possible way to Matarodona in order to make sure that there would be plenty of time for the last part up to the flag and indeed, the three of us got there without major mishaps. At one point it was necessary to help Frida climb a ledge, but by now she's rather used to such proceedings.
River crossing |
Soon we were rewarded with a good view above Matarodona and its surroundings.
At the flag |
On our way back to the car we didn't take the river crossing, but instead a variant we'd discovered on one of our last strolls there - the one that follows the river several hundred meters and than takes a well marked path up to Coll de Daví. At one point, Frida got entangled in the spinous vegetation and before we could get to her, her restless trying to escape corrupted the situation in a way that even her big big big lips were continually being pierced. Our trying to free her also saw us suffering several pinges, but finally all of us could continue without too much blood loss. But I certainly wouldn't have liked to be in the dog's situation .... ouch. The good thing about her is, that after only 5 seconds she seemed to have forgotten about the whole story...
